THE LORD
NEEDS A LOAN--URGENTLY
He that hath
pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he
pay him again.(Pro.19:17)
This article is written not to “entice for money (or) goodsz” though every ministry,
church and mission organization appeal for “Prayer”—meaning “remember to send
us some support”- “Help now” appeals etc…In the 7 continents there are millions
of men and women of the Lord who sacrificially contribute their time, talents,
wealth, goods properties and funds for various causes of the Kingdom! May the
Lord bless and reward them! They are blessed indeed!
There are, however critics who lash out on “asking
for Help”. This is because; we have not understood this verse and many other
scriptures on giving and serving the poor. Look at the Amazing mystery in this
verse!
1. Why can’t give to people directly?
God cannot
give anybody anything because He doesn’t have earthly things in Heaven. Heaven
and earth are two different systems. No human flesh lives there. “They shall hunger no more, neither
thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat”. ( Rev.7:16).
No one gets hungry in heaven and no one is thirsty. No sun light and no
heating systems. No one need to pay for electricity bill. “For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are
given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven”.(Mt.12:25) Heaven
is a place where God’s everlasting throne is. He is a Spirit Being and
all the angels there. Glorious light, lightening and consuming fire are the
expression of Heaven. We cannot understand or will be able to comprehend
Heaven! Jesus Said,” If I have told
you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of
heavenly things?(Jn.3:12)
Earth is a
mass of sand and soil. Land, mountains, fruits, vegetations, dress, food, fish
and meat, buildings, houses, cars and all other things this world has is HIS.
God entrusted these to us. . Our modern “Prosperity Theology” strongly resists the
idea of poverty, by which they do injustice to God’s infallible words like
these:
2. God’s
Thoughtfulness on poor:
Bible scholars
tell us that there are nearly 300 bible verses, on the poor, social justice and
God’s concern for them “He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of
his food to the poor.” (Pro.22:9)
"And if you give yourself
to the hungry, and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will
rise in darkness, and your gloom will become like midday. And the LORD will
continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give
strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a
spring of water whose waters do not fail."(Isa.58:10)
"When you give a luncheon
or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or
rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and repayment come to you.
But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the
blind, and you will be blessed, since they do not
have the means to repay you; for you will
be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."(Lk.14:12-14)
We
can go on and on giving scriptural proofs of the reality of “Poverty” and God’s
Concern to the poor.
3
Man the Lender…..Poor the benefited…God the borrower…..And God….. back to the
Lender.
This
is God’s eternal law and method to bless the poor! ALWAYS! Men who invested in
stock markets, financial institutes and businesses have sometimes faced
unexpected loss and even bankruptcy! But in God’s INSTITUTE OF FINANCE, the law
is quite different. Once a young rich man came to Jesus and expressed his
desire to Follow Jesus! And Jesus welcomed the idea as he was in great need of “Laborers
in the field”. HIS EVERLASTING
CONDITION ON DISCIPLESHIP IS always,
even in the 21st Century is :” Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to
the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.(Mt19:21) When we
have money, riches, silver and gold, we become dependent on these things! A follower
of Jesus must be God dependent on all things!
Riches are thorns:
“He also that received seed among the
thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the
deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.(Mt.13:22)
“Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of
thee turn not thou away.(Mt.5:42)
Therefore,
the right place to invest our wealth, goods and money is the Poor and with God.
“And if you give even a cup
of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”(Mt.10:42)
And every wise business man will invest in a place where there is
Eternal Rewarding”
4. The Lord,
THE POOR, The Gospel, The Kingdom:
“The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the
gospel preached to them.(Mt.11:5) Jesus had a special to the poor and
always lived with the poor. Who are the poor? The blind, the halt, the
demon possessed, the maimed, the halt, beggars, the physically challenged,
widows, the aged, the sick, and orphans, the destitute.; are all in this list.
Many churches in the 3rd world nations are poor because most of them
are Independent planted bare-foot, converted evangelists and pastors in the
midst of offensive, oppressive and hostile situations.
“Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God
choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom
which He promised to those who love Him?(Ja.2:5)
“As
sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having
nothing, and yet possessing all
things.”(2cor.6:10)
Have you
treated the Loan Application well (or) have you turned down the application
down saddening the heart of the Lord? In the book of “Mathew.
25:34-40
“‘Come,
you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared
for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you
gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I
was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick
and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then
the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a
stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or
in prison and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply,
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and
sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Be Blessed! Be rewarded!
